Before Good Trouble, Zuri performed with the SITI Company of New York and BADA in London. She established the Zuri Adele Fellowship for HBCU Alumni at UCLA's TFT and the Be Accessible Scholarship at Modo Yoga International, with the intentions of making Master of Fine Arts education and yoga teacher training more accessible to people of acknowledged African descent, and is currently expanding each of these initiatives.

Zuri, lived in New York, Chicago and Colorado before moving to Los Angeles. Her father is Israeli. Her mother is a painter. Zuri studied acting at the Lesly Kahn Studio and improvisation at Second City LA as well as being a graduate of Colorado College. She's been described as a combination of Fiona Apple, Natalie Portman and Helena Bonham Carter.
