The Australian Surf Movie Festival concept was born. The years that follow will be a continuous race to travel and capture amazing surfing images and surfing action.In 1998, after a trip to Hawaii, Biggest Wednesday was produced. After touring this film throughout the country and overseas, it was sold on to DVD and with over 70,000 units sold it remains one of the biggest surf video sales of all time in Australia. Later on, teahupoo, in Tahiti, became the world's most notorious big wave surfing location.The award -winning documentary Blackwater The Story of a Place Called Teahupoo - was created (2006 Awarded Best Surf Documentary at the International Surf Festival in St Jean De luz, France) followed by May Dayz, showing the in-famous "jet's ski incident". In just a few short years, with his surf movie features, Tim has grown the Australian Surf Movie Festival from its humble beginnings to sell-out crowds at large pub and club venues and in selected independent cinemas throughout Australia's East Coast and international locations. The Australian Surf Movie Festival combines film with live music by presenting young-up-and-coming music as part of the ASMF experience.
