Terri Garber is an American television and film actress, best known for her role as Ashton Main, Southern Belle vixen, in the three-part miniseries, North and South (North and South (1985), North and South, Book II (1986), and Heaven & Hell: North & South, Book III (1994)). Garber grew up in Miami, Florida, the youngest of three children. Their father was a lawyer, and their mother owned a cooking school. Garber began acting in professional theater at the age of 16 at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami. She booked a commercial that made her a member of the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) and decided to move to New York to pursue television, film, and theater. Once in New York, she landed her first big role in the 1982 television series Texas (1980), which launched her career. She moved to Los Angeles to do series pilots, and booked "North and South". After "North and South", she worked on many other daytime and nighttime soaps, including Dynasty, Santa Barbara, General Hospital, and As the World Turns. She also guest-starred in many drama series and feature films. Garber married her high school drama teacher, William Roudebush, in 2013. Her daughter Molly Hager, by her first husband Chris Hager, is a successful Broadway actress. Recently, Garber teamed up with her sister, Lisa Rubenstein, to create an all-natural, handmade soap company by the name of SistersAlchemy. Garber lives in New York City with Roudebush and their maltese-poodle mix, Boo.

Terri Hall was brought up in Elmira, New York and lived there until she was 16 years old. She was the oldest of four children (she had a sister and two brothers). Her father had a heating company (he later became a lawyer) and her mother was a stay-at-home mom. Terri started dancing school at the age of 5 and soon was appearing in year-end performances. She finished high school early and at age 17 went to New York City. There she started dancing as a trainee for Harkness Ballet and later worked at American Ballet Theater. Terri soon became interested in expanding her career into acting and wanted to make more money than was being offered in dance. An actress she met gave her the names of several adult film directors and it was Armand Weston who first gave her an interview. She then got a part in A Date with Death which was later renamed The Taking of Christina (1976) and the rest is history.

Her background as an actress and photographer led her to directing. She directed her first short film, "A Day in the Life, " which screened at numerous festivals. She was accepted into AFI's Directing Workshop for Women. Her second short film, Recycling Flo (2004), was chosen by AFI to represent it at the Cannes Film Festival - International Short Film Corner. Along with being official selection in over 50 film festivals, "Recycling Flo" won two Best Film/Jury prizes at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and the Farmington Comedy Film Festival. She has co-directed 13 half-hour episodes of Sex Chronicles (2008) for HBO/Afterdark. She recently directed her first feature film, Sweet Talk (2013). It is distributed by Gravitas Ventures and American World Pictures and is available on Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, Vudu and iTunes. On stage, she directed Peter Lefcourt's popular "Café Society" at the Odyssey Theatre where she received Honorable Best Director and the cast received Best Ensemble in a Comedy Award from Stage Scene LA. She directed John Bishop's "The Trip Back Down" at the Whitefire Theatre for which she was nominated by Broadway World for Best Director. She directed Peter Lefcourt's play, "La Ronde de Lunch," for the Katselas Theatre Company, which was Ovation Recommended and received 6 LA Stage Scene Awards including Best Direction. She directed Mitch Hara's "Mutant Olive" at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, The Lounge Theatre, NY Solo Festival and Whitefire Theatre Solo Festival (Best Solo Show Award). At LA's Odyssey Theatre, she directed the world premieres of Peter Lefcourt's outrageous comedies, "The Way You Look Tonight," "Mutually Assured Destruction" and "The Assassination of Leon Trotsky: A Comedy." She directed Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies' "Collected Stories," at The Odyssey Theatre. It was invited to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival '13 where it had a very successful run. She directed Thaao Penghlis' touring solo show, "Places," at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. She is set to direct John Posey's "Father, Son and Holy Coach" at the Odyssey.
