His commercial work includes many regional and national spots, including "The Disney Dad", "Jeep", "Vitamin Water", and the spokesman for "Ruby Tuesday" restaurants. A graduate of Stetson University and a former High School Special Education teacher, Tom spent 4 years doing theater in New York City, before returning to warm southern California."I like it here", he says, "It's home. Tom Waite
Tom Waite is a Florida native whose world changed when, as a young boy, the James Bond thriller "Moonraker" shot in his backyard. Actually, it was the St Lucie river where he lived. While watching the filming, he knew what he wanted to do. He did his first play in the 6th grade and pursued acting all through school, graduating college with a BS in Theater Arts. He auditioned for a theater company right out of college and did over 500 performances in 22 countries, including performances at the '92 World's Fair and the '92 Olympics in Barcelona. He joined the Screen Actors Guild and did commercials for the Daytona 500, Chevy Truck and Office Depot. Soon he booked acting roles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ALIAS for directors J.J. Abrams and Ken Olin. Also, Chuck, Castle and SuperGirl, to name a few. Some of his film credits include: The Amazing Spider-Man, The Ride Along, Rage and All Nighter (2017). He has acted opposite Bradley Cooper, Nicolas Cage, Andrew Garfield and J.K. Simmons. Waite is a former 1991 Oklahoma State Tae Kwon Do Champion and jumped at the chance to add Stuntman to his resume when he was asked to do a fight scene with Ice Cube in the movie "All About the Benjamins". He would later fight Cube again in the movie The Ride Along. His Stunt credits include such films and TV shows as: Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White and the Huntsman, The Last Airbender, Agents of Shield, CHUCK, CSI Miami, Training Day and Powerless. Throughout his Stunt career, he has been the Stuntman for some of the biggest actors in Hollywood: Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Nicolas Cage, Bill Paxton and Denis Leary. Waite was part of the Stunt Ensembles for TV shows that won the Emmy for Outstanding Stunt Coordination: ALIAS-2003, Chuck-2008 and 2009, Revolution-2013 In 2013 Waite was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture - The Amazing Spider-Man.
