Then he traveled to London, UK to do a masterclass at "Method Acting Classes" by Sam Rumbelow. In 2016 and 2017 Toms flew to Los Angeles, USA to do a masterclass at "Studio4 James Franco's Acting and Film School". He is living in Riga, LV. Toms is fluent in English and Latvian. Tom was born and raised in the great land of oil derricks, buffalo wings, and Cutco knives in the small town of Olean, NY, near Buffalo. After graduating from Olean High School, he joined the US Navy, traveled the world, earned a commission as a Naval Officer, and flew combat helicopters in both Gulf Wars. Throughout his Navy career, Tom needed an escape from the stress of military life and long deployments, so he started a rock band. His band, Running Late, performed for military audiences and USO events including gigs with Kansas, The Doobie Brothers, and 4 Non Blondes. After retirement from his Navy gig, Tom crossed paths with his first director and acting coach Hugh Copeland of the Hurrah Players, Virginia's leading family theater. Over the next few seasons, Tom performed lead roles in many stage productions including Annie, Aladdin, High School Musical, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Somehow along the way, he got the acting bug and promptly announced to the world that he wanted to pursue acting and hasn't been taken seriously since. Bio Born in the Hatfield & McCoy region of Kentucky, and raised in South Charleston, West Virginia, Tom pursued his musical goals and studied drums and percussion starting in grade school, all the way through college at West Virginia University. After college, Tom relocated to Florida and eventually transitioned into acting when Disney/MGM and Universal Studios expanded in the Orlando area. Enrolling in acting classes and eventually working at Universal Studios as a stage actor, Tom's first commercial was actually for Disney/ MGM, working with the late Jim Henson in a Muppets commercial shortly before his death. The long awaited bio-pic ,STREET SURVIVORS; THE TRUE STORY OF THE LYNYRD SKYNYRD PLANE CRASH (Amazon Prime) was also released in February 2020, saw Tom in the supporting role of pilot Walter McCreary. When he's not acting, Tom is fully invested as a volunteer in the Young Storytellers program as a head mentor, teaching fifth graders to write original stories and screenplays in the 'Script to Stage' program, which is sponsored by Disney, HBO and Paramount to name a few.
