Scott Haining was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. His love for performing started at a young age, having the influence of his parents and older sister (Charlotte Haining), who are all musically talented. His mother is a music teacher and his father studied music as a young boy. Scott went on to learn many instruments, specializing in the Bass Guitar and Cornet. His love for musical theater began after joining Rebel School of Theater Arts in 2004, where he took Acting and Dancing lessons. After a string of leads in the end of year productions he landed his first Professional TV role 2010. He played Nate Gurney in Waterloo Road, Season 6 from episode 11-20 (excluding episode 18). His character was the love interest of Josh Stevenson. The episodes aired on the BBC in the first half of 2011. In April 2011 he went to London and spent a week filming the role of Darren Arnott for one episode 'Decent People' of the daytime soap show Doctors. His character was being persuade by a gang to join, but he was not interested. The episode aired on July 28th 2011. Also in 2011 he played Scott in 'Frankenstein's Wedding...Live in Leeds'. His character was a Chav who teased Frankenstein for his looks. He moved to London in September 2011 to take a Foundation course in Musical Theater at Mountview Academy of Theater Arts. He also continued dance lessons at the much acclaimed 'Pineapple Dance Studio's' He finished the course in 2012 and a few weeks later was cast in the UK tour of the hit Jukebox Musical 'Dreamboats and Petticoats.' He played the lead character of Bobby and tour all over England from June to November 2012. In 2013 Scott was cast as Joe B. Mauldin in the 25th anniversary tour of 'Buddy-The Buddy Holly Story' which started in September 2013. In December 2014 Haining played Buttons in 'Cinderella A Rock and Roll Panto' at the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre for four weeks. As part of the show Scott performed two solo songs and played the guitar,bass and trumpet and backing vocals in other songs. The shows run ended in January 2015. This was his first Pantomime.
