Stuart's pursuit of feature film directing began in the sixth grade when he was awarded the first place prize for a video project, produced for an English class. Realizing his hobby of movies could actually become a career path, Stuart went on to direct, produce, and edit a feature film as a senior in high school which led to his admittance into Boston University College of Communications as a film major. Stuart's Boston University thesis film "Bobby Loves Mangos" earned accolades of film critic Roger Ebert at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to win 37 film festivals across the globe. Ebert subsequently invited Stuart onto his TV show and screened his film of the world stage, launching Stuart's career. Stuart's first feature film is entitled #STUCK, of which he also wrote and edited. The film stars Joel David Moore (Avatar) and Madeline Zima (Californication), garnered several awards such as Best Performances at the Napa Valley Film Festival, and Best Director, as well as the Audience Award at Sun Valley Film Festival and went on to a successful theatrical and VOD distribution run. Currently available on all platforms. Stuart's second feature film entitled, "Mantervention" of which he was a director for hire, stars Mario Van Peebles, Travis Van Winkle (Transformers, The Last Ship), Chloe Bridges (CW: The Carrie Diaries) and Nick Roux (Jane by Design) and was shot entirely in Malibu, CA. The film was sold at Cannes films Festival and is currently available on all platforms. Stuart has broken into TV as Director with his first Television episode of Z-Nation for Syfy Channel. Upon it's airing in December 2018, it was met with rave reviews. Stuart recently wrapped his third feature film, a thriller entitled "Flawless" that is set for release Summer 2019.
Stuart was born at a very early age; through trial and error (quite a few errors requiring trial), eventually settled on the instability of the actor's life due to his whole body crying out at the inhumanity of regular employment. Stuart successfully lives the dream of the failing actor to great effect. Contrary to the British actor norm of being from a privileged background, attending Eton etc, and then fabricating a street credibility; Stuart likes to put it about that he is from a respectable middle class family and had a predisposition for proudly and enthusiastically fagging for the prefects at Stranraer Academy, whereas nothing could be further from the truth.
