As a Northern California native, Steven has been in television and film off and on since 1998. While attending film school, he collaborated to create commercials, public service announcements, and festival content. He was dragged kicking and screaming from behind the lens onto the screen by a close friend. Once in the spotlight, the acting bug quickly took hold and he found himself working on summer blockbusters, indies, industrials, commercials, and everything in between. Now SAG eligible, he has set his sights on climbing the acting ladder and chasing bigger film roles. He is a Congressionally-decorated veteran, passionate about the outdoors and is active in public land use rights. He enjoys teaching people how to pan and prospect for gold. On occasion, he helps parents locate and recover their missing children.
Steven Escobar was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas. He finished his education by graduating from The University of Texas - Pan American with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with concentration in Radio/Television/Film. In 1992, Steven began Associate Producing the musical variety show, Budweiser's Dance Time in Texas which ran for 2 years as a syndicated television series. He went on to co-create the successful music series titled, Tejano Country. In 1996, Abraham Quintanilla (Q Productions, Inc.) contacted Steven to produce Latin music videos by such artists as Selena, Pete Astudillo, and Jennifer Pena. This lead to his involvement on the Warner Bros. Film, "Selena". Steven moved to Los Angeles in 2000 and formed Jesco Film Entertainment, LLC, where he has successfully been producing and editing various television, feature film, and documentary projects. Since teaming with his partner, Joe Castro, Escobar has brought his leadership and vision to a variety of feature films projects, beginning with the horror film, Terror Toons in 2001. After a steady stream of projects, such as Near Death, The Jackhammer Massacre, and a new movie titled, Terror Toons 2: The Sick and Silly Show! Escobar is now ready to move back into producing television series' where he still works. Steven works as a picture editor on various reality shows which range from Fox's Trading Spouses and Nanny 911 to NBC's The Apprentice and The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. Most recently, Steven has been nominated for a Prime Time Emmy by The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for his work on The Apprentice . He is on a team of 24 picture editors nominated for Outstanding Picture Editing for Non-Fiction Programming (Single or Multi-Camera). In 2007, Steven won a Primetime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Picture Editing for Reality Programming" for The Amazing Race. Steven also graduated in 2017 with a Master of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University and also holds a Guinness World Record for the "Highest Body Count in a Slasher Film" for The Summer of Massacre.
Steven J Mihaljevich is an actor, director, composer, writer, editor and media producer known for the creation of independent comedy web series "Search for the Deadliest Rokstaar" and "What Women Want." Other notable acting roles have included independent feature films "Death Bet" and "The Misguided" (unreleased) , whilst he has composed music for feature films "Severance Pay" "The Misguided" as well as numerous short films including "Ever Watchful" "Widow" and "To Live and Die in Perth."
