Steve is from Southern Maryland and studied Drama at the University of Maryland. After moving to New York in 1981, he made his Broadway debut in The Three Musketeers in 1984. In 1993, he starred as Lancelot in Camelot, with Robert Goulet as Arthur, and then began an eight year run on Broadway as the Beast in Disney's Beauty and The Beast from 1999 through 2007. Steve has also starred opposite Melissa Gilbert in the musical version of The Little House on the Prairie, and portrayed Joseph Pulitzer in Disney's Newsies, both on stage and on film.
