Born and raised on the Garden Isle of Kaua'i, Sonya Balmores grew up surfing and modeling in the islands. In addition to TV and film, Sonya has over five years of experience in Video Game Motion Capture and Voice Over playing the no-nonsense Division Agent Alani Kelso for Tom Clancy's: The Division 2 (Ubisoft). When not on the set Sonya loves to study her craft. She has had the privilege of training at many fine programs in Los Angeles: The Groundlings, The Actors Gang, Identity School of Acting, and Shakespeare with Juilliard alum Diane Venora. Sonya Barnes is a Native of Cleveland, Ohio which is where her acting career begin. After trying her hand at Broadcast Journalism, the acting bug struck and the rest is history. In Cleveland Sonya started with theater as she landed a lead role in the Chicago based play "Hellcab". After that she continued to land numerous jobs with her talent agency in Cleveland including print advertisements, commercials and industrial films. Sonya has also been know for trying her hand at directing as she directed a stage reading at the infamous Karamu Theatre named "The Proud Song Testament". With a strong background in voice-over work, she has managed to land jobs with various clients such as Allstate, State Farm and Cleveland's Summer Jazz Festival. Sonya relocated to Chicago in December 2004 to continue her journey in acting. Since then she has landed two films as the lead along with PSA's and Infomercials.
