Moved to Mumbai, India for 5 years as a kid. Attended The Johns Hopkins University, BA International Relations. Was accepted to law schools for Human Rights / Public Interest, instead decided to follow her heart and train as an actor at USC where she received her MFA in Theater. Also worked at Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) in SF where she selected and nurtured independent films by/for underrepresented voices for public television shows such as POV and Independent Lens. Pia Thrasher
Pia Thrasher is an actor, filmmaker and visual artist originally from Germany, where she studied the arts at the E.T.A. Hoffman Gymnasium. She majored in English and graduated from the Euro Sprachschule Bamberg as a Foreign Language Correspondent. Pia's acting experience started around 5th grade in school theatre and several small stage productions in her hometown in Germany. Soon after immigrating to the U.S. she tasted 'movie blood' while working on several film sets as an extra, including James Cameron's 'Titanic'. Wanting to learn more about the craft, she began training in earnest and enrolled in acting classes and showcases. Once she started auditioning, student films offered her opportunities to play speaking parts, adding experience and confidence to win her supporting and leading roles in shorts and independent films. Pia eventually branched out and also worked on numerous film sets behind the scenes, gaining more knowledge and skills as a filmmaker. The dark comedy short 'The Appointment' was Pia's directorial debut in 2015. Look out for her next short films, the horror comedy 'Things We Dig' and crime thriller 'The Test', both of which she wrote, directed and stars in, coming to film festivals in 2021/22!

Pia Tjelta is a Norwegian actress who was born on September 12, 1977. She had acted in some movies and worked a couple of years at theatre Sláva outside of Stockholm in Sweden before she got her breakthrough in Mongoland (2001), a low budget movie recorded in her hometown Stavanger on the west coast of Norway. At the age of 23 she gave birth to her daughter Sofia, but after breaking up with Sofia's father Kyrre Haugen, Pia became a single mother. In 2006 she graduated from Kunsthøgskolen I Oslo with a bachelor degree. Besides playing in movies Pia also works on stage at Det Norske Teater in Oslo, Norway.
