Ole Endresen is a Norwegian creator, director and writer, known for hit series like Young Wallander (Netflix) Bulletproof (Sky) Lillyhammer (Netflix) and Gangs of Oslo /Blodsbrødre (TV2, Netflix) Ole recently (2023) created, wrote and directed the hard hitting gang-drama Gangs of Oslo/Blodsbrødre for Netflix and TV2. Ole lead-directed the reboot-success of iconic Nordic Noir, Young Wallander (2020) which quickly made Netflix's Top 5 in the U.K, as well as Nr 1 in all the Nordic countries & The Netherlands. He directed on the first season of SKY's action-drama hit, Bulletproof, (2018) which was sold to CW Network and commissioned for a 2nd series. Ole directed one of Netflix's first world wide- hits, Lillyhammer (2012) which won the Golden Nymph in Monte Carlo. Ole was creator/head-writer on two seasons of the Viaplay crime-drama Aber Bergen (2016), nominated to Norwegian Emmy for best drama two years in a row (2017 & 2018). In his early career Ole directed some of Scandinavias most iconic comedy-series, such as the critically acclaimed cult-dramady Ut I Vår Hage, which won Norwegian Emmy for best comedy series (2008). Ole moved on to creating/writing & directing, and created the NRK- success comedy-drama, Etaten (2006) before his debut as writer/director on the big screen with the box office hit Kong Curling (2011), launched to great reviews at London Film Festival (2012) and winner of Audience Award for best feature at Cinequest in San Jose, (2012).
Ole Ernst graduated from Odense Teater in 1967 where shortly afterwards he was hired as a stage-actor. Ernst had his debut playing Chino in Westside Story (1965). In 1969 he jumped from Odense Teater to Det Kongelige Teater where he continued stage-acting until 1976. Ernst performed in a lot of classic stage-plays such as Jeppe På Bjerget, Erasmus Montanus, Hamlet and Amadeus. In 1973, Ernst played the lead role in Hans Kristensen's gangster-movie Flugten which was followed by the two sequels Per (1975) and Blind Makker (1976). The three films became very popular, and are to this day still considered some of the best Danish films ever. Kristensen's Per-trilogy launched Ole Ernst's career as one of the finest actors of his generation. A short list of other great films Ernst starred in: Hærværk (1977), Terror (1977), Mord I Mørket (1986), Peter von Scholten (1987), Epidemic (1987), Sort Høst (1993), Okay (2002) and Rembrandt (2004). In 1994, Ole Ernst was re-hired by Det Kongelige Teater.
