Dale Bensch is known for his work on Mad Max (1979), Ocean Grove: Intimate Alien - Official Music Video (2017) and Beyond the Wasteland (2021). He was initially recruited for Mad Max as an extra in the Toecutter motorcycle gang, which then evolved into various motorcycle stunts and riding scenes, including as stunt double for Main Force Patrol motorcycle cop Jim Goose, a MFP Interceptor driver in one scene, and a double as Bubba Zanetti in another. Dale's most memorable scenes are the motorcycle 'donut' and mono on his own Kawasaki Z900 motorcycle, and a bridge crash as Starbuck on a movie supplied Kawasaki Z1000. The bridge stunt required two bikes being laid down, but a miscalculation caused him to be flipped over with the Starbuck bike. Despite the graphic vision (but effective outcome), Dale was not injured. Since the release of Mad Max, Dale's bridge crash has resulted in a continuing worldwide urban myth that he died as a result of performing that stunt on Friday the 13th of January 1978.
