With full training in the Meisner Technique (The Taylor School of Acting) as well as several years of improvisational experience (UCB, The Second City), Dylan used these skills to create and star in the dark comedy, "The Thick Blue Line", a gritty cop series that asks the question, "What if True Detective...was funny?"

Dylan Ellis is an American writer and director who was born May 9, 1986 in Austin, Texas where he has spent the majority of his life. He attended the University of Texas in 2005 having been accepted into the Radio-Television-Film program where he followed in the footsteps of successful filmmakers such as Robert Rodriguez, Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson. In his final year of school he moved to Los Angeles to enroll in the UTLA program, where UT students study and work in LA as a way to transition from college to working in the film/TV industry. There, he worked at Paramount Pictures and met future collaborators Derek Lee Nixon and Andrew Pozza, who had seen a short film of his that caught their eye. Shortly after they hired him to co-direct his first feature A Schizophrenic Love Story (2012) which has currently won several awards at International Film Festivals, and is slated to play at more throughout the year. He currently lives in Austin, TX with his wife Laura Gail and his Boston Terrier Pippa, and is working with his writing partner Tim Ogletree on future projects.
