Damian John Harper
Damian John Harper was born in 1978 in Boulder Colorado, USA. After he received his B.A. in Anthropology (Magna Cum Laude) he worked as an ethnologist with the Zapotecs in Oaxaca, Southern Mexico than later as an under water cave dive instructor in Brazil. In 2012 he finished his studies at the University of TV and Film in Munich Germany. with his short fiction Teardrop, which tells of a brutal gang initiation filmed in 5 seamless plan-sequences from the protagonists P.O.V. The short was invited to over 50 international competitions around the globe and won several prizes. In 2013 his first feature screenplay Los Ángeles was a Berlinale Talent Project Market participant, an Academy of Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting Quarterfinalist and later commissioned for theatrical release by ZDF with it's world premier at the 64th Berlinale in 2014. Damian's sophomore project In The Middle Of The River, a family drama set in the desert of the American Southwest, was penned at the prestigious Cannes Residence du Festival, commissioned for theatrical release by ZDF/ARTE and premiered at the Munich Film Festival in 2018 where it received the German Cinema New Talent Award for best Screenplay. Damian John Harper describes himself as a film maker, photographer and damn good father.

Born in New Jersey to a family of four, Damian earned his Honors BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in '17, where they were awarded as the most outstanding actor & scholar of their class. Dame is widely known for Roy Cohn is Oscar-nominated US v. Billie Holiday; starring as Brian in AppleTV's Roar; & leading Amazon Prime's slasher-comedy Road Head. They are recognized for their transformative dynamism, elastic choices, and raw vulnerability, both in gritty dramas and ensemble comedy alike. Damian has a fervent passion for intersectional Queer equality, writing filmic narratives for the horizon of an international Queer Utopia, and representing the gambit of sexual orientations & gender identities to pioneer the fluidity of modern Queer representation. Further training includes: character work, improv + sketch writing through the Groundlings, classical text in Florence, & embodied, experimental theater in Amsterdam. Damian has a passion for the crafts in film, theater, & voice over. When not acting, Damian teaches yoga + meditation, sings, and tends to her verdant house plants. They've directed ritual theater in Hawaii & resourced with Queer refugees all around the world. Damian has a love for adventure, learning and their ever-growing Irish family.
