Babak was born in Tehran, Iran just prior to the Iranian Revolution. His family left the country to avoid the chaos, turmoil and cultural upheaval which was to follow. Having briefly lived in Spain and California, at age five, his family settled in Vancouver, BC. From a very young age he was compelled by the arts and began experimenting with various visual media, fell in love with theater, and began performing with several workshops that while touring around the world, used contemporary genres of dance combined with theater to discuss and explore social issues with the audience across cultures and languages. Grassroots social development projects have been a passion of his ever since. Babak completed his Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Communications and attended film-school at Simon Fraser University. Working behind the camera on several projects throughout the years, a project took him to Toronto where he lived for some time and by twist of fate, began working in the field of education technology consulting working for an international firm. He then relocated to Switzerland to accept the role of Assistant Director of the Information Technology Education Center off the beautiful Lake of Constance, bordering Germany and Austria. He was then led back west to Victoria and then east to Montreal which marked his return to the performing arts, delving into film acting and trained at the L'Atelier Orphanspace. Babak is now back in his home town of Vancouver and feels grateful for the all the amazing projects and people he has been blessed to work with over the past several years. From his sobering lead character on the feature film 'Tree Line'(2012), where he played an Afghan-Canadian police officer who lost his wife and children to Taliban bombings in Kandahar, to his hilarious one-liner playing a concussed patient stuck between a nurse and her lover on the MOW 'Nearlyweds'(2013), Babak revels in the challenge of making his characters uniquely come alive.
